Dr. Neal Guffey was raised in Fez, Morocco. After returning to the US he began spending his summers working on a tobacco farm in North Carolina and fell in love with the state. He completed his undergraduate studies at UNC Chapel Hill, then went to medical school at East Carolina University. After internship and residency training at the Medical College of Virginia, he returned to North Carolina and now lives in Asheville. Though his background includes internal medicine,  anesthesia, and hospice/palliative care, he has been extensively involved with MAT/Addiction medicine for the past 5 years and truly enjoys working with young adults and their families. When not in the office you will find him planting trees, mountain biking or planning his next ski trip.
